Express Entry can be described as the most sought-after route to immigration and Canadian Permanent residence. To be eligible for Express Entry, you will need to know your CRS score. This page will provide the minimum score required by CRS for Canada PR 2022. Know the conditions for Express Entry eligibility by reading more about the program in the following paragraphs.
What Is Express Entry Canada?
In January of 2015, the Canadian government announced a new system of electronic immigration that allows express Entry into Canada for qualified and skilled immigrants.
This new Express Entry program will manage permanent residence applications for those who can fill positions where there is a shortage of trained Canadian workers. (View LMIA information for a similar topic.)
Thousands Receive Permanent Residence in Canada Annually
The Canadian government has acknowledged the reality it is the case that Canada needs new immigrants to fulfill the country’s demands on the labor market and to ensure Canada’s future economic prosperity and growth.
It will permit Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) to assess actively, choose and recruit immigrants who have the skills and the necessary qualifications required under the federal programs for economic immigrants:
It is expected that the Express Entry program will also allow specific provinces and territories to utilize the system to identify suitable candidates to be in the provincial Nominee Programs to ensure that the demands of the labor market can be fulfilled.
Employers play a crucial role in the selection of economically minded immigrants. They will be able to find qualified candidates through Canada’s recently upgraded Job Bank and the provinces and territories if applicable.
How to Qualify for Express Entry
Before applying for Express Entry, you will need to prove that you are eligible by earning at least 67 points on a scale of 100 points system.
It is an assessment criterion that evaluates and gives applicants interested in Express Entry an overall score out of 100.
If you earn more than 67 points, you could be eligible for a Federal Skilled Worker Program.
If you score less than 67, you won’t be eligible for the program.
How Many Points are Required?
Learning to speak (28 points)

The Education (25 points)

Employment Experiential (15 points)
You’ll be able to earn points depending on the amount of time you’ve worked full-time, paid work (at a minimum of 30 hours per workweek or a comparable amount of part-time work (i.e., 15 hours per week over 24 months[24 months]) with a skill type of 0, or the skill level either A or B in the National Occupational Classification.
Age (12 points)
You’ll earn points based on your age when you submit your application.

The ability to adapt (10 points)
Your spouse or common-law partner planning to move together to Canada is eligible to earn points to help you adapt. You and your spouse are eligible to earn up to 10 points when you combine one of the following elements. These components assess how your spouse and you will settle in Canada.
Who Can Apply for Express Entry
A few guidelines apply; however, generally speaking, anyone can submit their profile and be selected. This is great news. Of course, if you have an offer for a job already in place, you are likely to be in a better position to get a job, but it does not mean you can’t be considered even if you don’t have an offer. So this is very good news for immigration lawyers. As lawyers, our task is to now focus on our clients’ best qualities to convince the authorities that they will be good candidates to apply for immigration and get chosen. This is an extremely positive thing. Many people can be a part of the Canadian economy and make an impact that might not otherwise be considered under the previous system. As I mentioned, I think this is a good thing, and I look forward to helping applicants process their applications using the brand new Express Entry System. This should have provided you with hope, and don’t let it derail you.
