Canadian Blood Services is looking for a permanent part-time Laboratory Technician in Canada to be part of our vibrant Production team in Brampton. As a part of this position, you are responsible for the periodic review of production-related tasks during the day and making sure that Quality Control procedures & requirements are maintained within the department to ensure compliance with all regulations, standards operating systems, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).

Responsibilities of Laboratory Technician In Canada include:
- Performs tasks and reviews routinely of production-related activities in compliance with operating procedures.
- Controls the incoming flow and prepares the shipments for production that are scheduled to leave according to operating procedures.
- Performs routine operation of equipment and maintenance tasks according to operating procedures.
- Assists in monitoring and reviewing equipment used in production and other areas per operating procedures.
- Maintains a sufficient supply of supplies. Aids the supervisory staff in inventory counting and general ordering of consumables and supplies and inspects the supply deliveries following the standard operating procedure.
- Maintains high standards of customer service to the customers who are both internal as well as external and ensures that they are constantly educated.
- Participates in continuous improvements.
- Other related tasks as needed.
Education, Training, and Experience of a Laboratory Technician In Canada:
- The Ontario Society of Medical Technologists (OSMT) must accredited you.
- And/or Technologist with relevant experience who does not have a registered status within Canada.
- And/or education in formal education, or equivalent post-secondary education and one year of laboratory experience or equivalent education. A good example would be a BSc or MSc in a suitable Health Sciences Discipline.
- Experience in computers – relevant computer capabilities are needed.
- Skills and qualifications needed – the ability to use manual tools, create and maintain accurate documents, initiative and work on your own and perform repetitive tasks in an organized way.
- It is essential to perform on weekends and shifts and calls.
Demonstrated Skills and Abilities:
- The ability to acquire the essential technical techniques.
- It is vital to have strong writing and oral communication abilities.
- The ability to speak English is necessary.
- The candidate must be able to work in a team and independently as part of a team.
- Physically able to fulfill the responsibilities in work.
- Performing on weekends, all shifts, and even weekends is essential.
- Need to be organized, and the ability to prioritize is necessary.
- You must be able to operate automated equipment as well as computers on workstations.
- You must pay attention to the minor details and the ability to create precise documentation clearly and clearly.
- An excellent ability to solve problems is required.
